Q &A

Question & Answer with Modern Luxury Brides Houston  and Mia Bridal Couture Owner Jill Ivers Nelson.

Q: With so many choices, what makes Mia Bridal Couture the place to find your gown?

A: Our team!  We understand that finding your dress is a personal and often overwhelming decision so we strive to create a boutique environment that is “comfortable couture”.  Through one-on-one appointments, guided by our experienced consultants, every bride feels welcomed, excited and at ease in our shop.

Q: What should I do to prepare for my bridal appointment?

A: Browse through that stack of bridal magazines you have acquired and mark gowns that catch your eye.  Also, create your “Wedding” Pinterest board and start pinning gowns you see online.  By sharing this info with your bridal consultant, she will instantly see where you gravitate and will likely have recommendations that you may love as well.

Q: What is a trunk show and why is it beneficial to purchase my bridal gown at a Mia Trunk Show?

A: During trunk show weekends brides have the opportunity to see a designer’s entire current collection, including dresses not even in stores!  Trunk shows are usually attended by the designer personally or by the designer’s style representative.  The weekends also feature fantastic purchase incentives and discounts.

“Love wins!  In the end, the entire planning process is about love and should be enjoyed with that in mind every step of the way.”

Q: Who do I invite to the bridal appointment?

A: Ever heard the saying, “Too many cooks in the kitchen?”  We recommend bringing an intimate group of no more than three guests.  Extend an invitation to only your most valued friends and family, whose opinions are crucial to your decision.  If someone close to you doesn’t fall in that category include her in other ways, like when selecting accessories or during a gown fitting.

Q: I found “The One!”  Now what?

A: If you mean your fiancé, then it’s time to schedule your appointment at Mia Bridal Couture!  If you mean your wedding gown, we can help with that as well.  Once we take your measurements and place the order with the designer, your dress will take four to six months to arrive to our boutique.  During these months have fun selecting the finishing touches; veil, jewelry, and shoes.
